glowlag is the sonic manifestation of emotional jet lag: the foggy, dim, and contemplative space that exists immediately after euphoria fades. Masterminded by South African-born, Germany-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Shaun Behrens, the project serves as a bridge between his alternative rock roots and modern electronic alt-pop production.

Shaun cut his teeth in the early 2000s Johannesburg alternative music scene before spending nearly two decades in the German indie rock circuit, most notably with 10 Cent Janes. Stepping away from traditional guitar-driven rock in 2023, he turned to synthesized sounds, layered textures, and sample-based production to fuse driving electronic beats with raw, rock-infused textures.

Born out of a late-40s search for existential meaning in an increasingly automated world, glowlag was catalyzed by a fundamental realization about the nature of art: in an era where technology can generate music in seconds, the act of human creation becomes a vital necessity. Shaun writes songs because he has to. His lyrics navigate the smallness of human existence, the preservation of sanity amidst chaos, and the innate melancholy of life.

These themes take center stage on the project's debut single, "My Legacy (Remember Me)," an anthemic track that wrestles with the futility of building a monument in a fleeting world.
